This easy-to-use vacuum control or regulator is slipped into a 2" PVC fitting until it is snug. The heavy, round weight can then be adjusted on the notched arm to increase or decrease the vacuum level.
Adjustments should be made with all valves to the tubing system turned off. If the vacuum level drops when the valves of the maple sap tubing system are opened, go to the woods and find the leaks. Re-adjusting the vacuum control while the system has leaks can cause damage to pumps and possibly motors once freezing occurs and vacuum levels spike in absence of the leak.
