How Do I Get Rid of Ice in My Releaser?

Throughout the normal freeze-thaw period in the season, you will undoubtedly get slush and ice in your releaser. Luckily, there's a way to clear out your releaser. 

The important thing on a mechanical releaser is to make sure that the flap on the front of your barrel is free of build-up. This way, liquid can get out. As long as liquid can get out of the barrel, it doesn't hurt to have a little slush or ice inside your releaser. When it warms up and sap is running, the ice will just melt.
