How Can I Identify Leaks in my Tubing?

Posted by FAQ Squad on Oct 28th 2022

To identify leaks in the woods, you’ll want to start by walking up the mainline from the downhill side. Walk all the way to the uphill side of the man line, looking at every lateral and mainline entrance fitting coming into that mainline.

Look at the speed at which the sap and bubbles are moving through the tubing right at the loop of tubing between the hook connector and the mainline entrance fitting. Slow moving bubbles are an indication of a tight leak. Free lateral fast moving bubbles are an indication of a leaky lateral.

Also, make sure to listen closely. You’ll hear a whistling or an air sucking sound where there are vacuum leaks.\
